The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Defense reviewed the previous decision and supported the resignation of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk.
This was reported by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to the MP, the committee reviewed yesterday’s decision on the president’s proposal to dismiss Malyuk from the post of SBU head. 12 deputies voted for the resignation, five voted against, and one abstained.
“That is, as of now, the president’s proposal to dismiss Malyuk from the post of SBU head has been supported by the committee. Today there will be a vote in the Rada, I think that 226+ have already been collected,” Zheleznyak wrote.
He also noted that during the discussion, the opposition demanded a report from Malyuk, while government representatives insisted that the situation was under control.
In addition, according to the People’s Deputy, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, confirmed that no nominations will be submitted for the appointment of a new head of the SBU at this time.
It was previously reported that the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense did not support the president’s proposal to dismiss the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk.
