The Verkhovna Rada did not adopt the bill on taxes on international parcels
The Verkhovna Rada did not support draft law No. 12360, which provided for changes to the taxation of international parcels.
This was reported by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The document proposed to cancel the current privileges for duty-free and tax-free import of international parcels worth up to 150 euros.
According to Zheleznyak, the key amendment did not receive the required number of votes – it was supported by only 205 people’s deputies out of the required 226.
The parliament also did not support the remaining amendments to the bill.
“They couldn’t even send Bill 12360 for a second reading. That’s it – the government has to introduce a new one,” Zheleznyak wrote.
Thus, the current rules regarding duty-free import of international parcels remain unchanged for the time being.
