People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Viktoria Siumar stated that the Verkhovna Rada meeting on September 18 was canceled without warning the deputies due to the trip of some government officials to Bukovel, where the Carpathian 8 Summit is taking place.
Syumar reported this on Facebook.
“The Verkhovna Rada meeting was canceled without any notice, because … part of the government went to Bukovel. To the Carpathian Summit. And the deputies found out about it … from a telegram,” the deputy wrote.
According to her, a plenary day with an “hour of questions to the government” was to be held on September 18. Siumar noted that she planned to ask representatives of the Cabinet, in particular, about capital expenditures and financing for the construction of protective structures and shelters on the eve of winter.
The deputy also criticized the situation with the organization of the work of the parliament, calling it a manifestation of problems in public administration.
Meanwhile, the Carpathian 8 Summit is indeed taking place in Bukovel from September 18 to 20. This is the founding summit of a new regional initiative of eight countries of the Carpathian region. Among the declared participants are Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, and a number of government members.
There are currently no scheduled issues on the official Verkhovna Rada agenda page for September 18. At the same time, the parliament’s main portal designates the period from September 15 to 18 as a plenary week.
