On the morning of October 13, US President Donald Trump arrived for a visit to Israel — he landed at Ben Gurion Airport. There, the American leader made a new statement about the war in Gaza.

This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

“This historic visit came after Trump brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas,” the article says.

As noted, the American president landed at a time when the group released the first hostages from Israel.

Trump will speak at a plenary session of Israel’s legislative body, the Knesset. In particular, he has already arrived there. And after entering the building, a trumpet sounded in the Knesset.

Speaking to reporters in parliament, Trump declared that the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas was officially over.

“This is a big day. This is a brand new beginning, and I don’t think anything like this has ever happened before,” he said.

The American president is also scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his office.

As a reminder, the Palestinian group Hamas has released the first group of Israeli hostages – seven people, who have already been handed over to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Earlier, Trump announced that Israel and the Hamas group had reached an agreement on the implementation of the first phase of the peace plan , which concerns the Gaza Strip.
