The weather will change the mood: anticyclones are leaving, the Arctic is coming
In early September, sunny and dry weather will remain in Ukraine, typical of the influence of anticyclones, which will dominate for most of the month.
This was reported by weather forecaster Ihor Kybalchych in a comment for Telegraf.
In early September, precipitation is unlikely, and the air temperature will remain above the climatic norm. Average monthly values will fluctuate within +14…+18 °C, with warming to +19 °C possible in the south.
However, after September 20, cold Arctic air masses will intervene in atmospheric processes. According to the forecaster, it is in the third decade of the month that a sharp drop in temperature is possible, particularly in the northern, eastern, and western regions. The first frosts on the soil surface are not ruled out there.
Additionally, September precipitation is expected to be 20–40% below normal, creating the risk of dry conditions, especially for Left-Bank Ukraine. This also increases the likelihood of fires in regions with reduced humidity.
Thus, September 2025 will be warm and dry at the start, but with a potentially sharp cooling at the end of the month, which will already signal the approach of full-fledged autumn.
