The administration of US President Donald Trump is exploring the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting involving Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Sources in the Trump administration informed Sospilny about this.
According to them, the talks could take place as early as next week, but the final location for the meeting has not yet been agreed upon.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt confirmed that President Trump is open to talks with the leaders of both countries.
“As President Trump stated yesterday, the Russians have expressed a desire to meet with President Trump, and the President is open to that meeting. President Trump would like to meet with both President Putin and President Zelensky because he wants this brutal war to end. The White House is working out the details of these potential meetings, and the details will be provided at the appropriate time,” Leavitt said.
As a reminder, on August 6, US President’s special representative Steve Witkoff arrived in Russia, where he held talks with Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin stated thatthe parties discussed the situation in Ukraine and possible directions of strategic cooperation between Moscow and Washington . The meeting was called “constructive.”
