The White House responded harshly to rumors about “conditions” for Ukraine regarding Donbas

The US administration denied information that Washington allegedly set a condition for Kyiv to withdraw Ukrainian troops from the controlled territories of Donbas in exchange for security guarantees.

Earlier, the Financial Times published such a scenario, citing sources. The publication quickly spread, including through Russian propaganda resources.

However, as Reuters reports , White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly said that the United States had not made any such demands. According to her, the US role is limited to supporting the peace process, and she called the claims about “conditions” regarding Donbas completely false.

Recall, Washington is considering an offer to Ukraine to give up Donbas in exchange for a plan to finance the country’s reconstruction worth $800 billion.
