There have been 112 battles on the front since the start of the day: the hottest is in the Pokrovsky direction

Over the course of 24 hours on April 24, 112 combat clashes occurred on the front, and intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian troops stopped 46 enemy assaults.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this as of 16:00.

Villages in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions were hit by enemy shelling along the border. Specifically, in the Sumy region, Bachevsk, Rogizno, Golyshevskoye, Ryzhevka, Korenok, and Malushino were hit, while Iskriskovshchyna suffered an airstrike. In the Chernihiv region, Tymonovychi and Klyusy were shelled.

The situation remains tense in the main directions. In the Severo-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out six attacks and 60 shellings, some using MLRS. In the Kupyansk direction, five assaults have been recorded, one of which is ongoing.

Some of the fiercest fighting is taking place in the Liman sector—Ukrainian forces have repelled 13 attacks, with six more ongoing. Active fighting is also taking place in the Kramatorsk and Kostiantynivka sectors, where the enemy has launched seven and 17 attacks, respectively.

The enemy concentrated the greatest pressure on the Pokrovsky direction – 46 attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense, four battles are still ongoing.

Seven attacks occurred in the Hulyai-Polye sector, and the enemy also carried out airstrikes on a number of populated areas. One attack was recorded in the Orekhov sector, and three assaults, one of which is ongoing, were reported in the Prydniprovsk sector.

Overall, the situation on the front remains difficult but under control, and Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the enemy’s advance.
