The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 10:00 p.m. on August 16 regarding the Russian invasion.
In total, 181 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day. The enemy launched one missile strike using 13 missiles, carried out 52 air strikes, dropped 161 guided bombs. In addition, it engaged 6,862 kamikaze drones for destruction and carried out 2,355 shelling of settlements and positions of our troops.
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the Defense Forces successfully repelled one enemy attack. In addition, the enemy launched two air strikes using six guided bombs and carried out 29 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including one from multiple launch rocket systems.
During the day, in the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units 11 times near Lyman, Kozacha Lopan, Izbitsky, Okhrimivka, Kruhly, and Dvorichansky; another clash is still ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction today, the enemy carried out two assaults on Defense Forces positions in the direction of the settlements of Novoplatonivka and Kurylivka; one clash is ongoing.
Eight attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled in the Lyman direction in the areas of Karpivka, Ridkodub, Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Dibrova.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped 15 attempts by the invaders to advance near Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kryva Luka, Zakitne, Mykolaivka, and Riznykivka; another clash is ongoing.
No enemy assault actions were recorded in the Kramatorsk direction.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 13 enemy assaults near Ivano-Frankivsk, Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, and Stepanivka; two more clashes are ongoing.
A total of 21 attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsky direction. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Kucheriv Yar, Novy Donbas, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Novogrishyne, Myrne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne and Novopavlivka. Four clashes are ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, today 36 occupiers were eliminated and 10 were wounded; two units of automobiles and four units of special equipment of the enemy were destroyed. One artillery system, two units of automobiles, two units of special equipment and one control point of unmanned enemy aircraft were damaged. 219 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
Our defenders successfully repelled one attack by the invaders in the Oleksandrivka direction in the Yehorivka area.
Twelve attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the Hulyaipil direction in the areas of the settlements of Rivne, Rizdvyanka, Hirke, Zaliznychne, Kopany, and Hulyaipilske; another attack is ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled one enemy attack in the Novoyakovlivka area.
No enemy assault actions were recorded in the Dnieper direction.
There were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
