There have been 74 combat clashes on the front since the start of the day: the enemy’s main attack is on the Pokrovsky direction

Since the beginning of this day, October 18, 74 combat clashes have occurred on the front, most of them in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks by the Russian occupiers.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in the evening as of 16:00.

Shelling of Ukrainian territory

Border communities in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions came under fire from Russian artillery. Specifically, the villages of Serhiyevskoye, Guta-Studenetskaya, Khrenovka, Staraya Guta, Bunyakino, Novovasilovka, Bruski, and Belaya Bereza were shelled.
Airstrikes hit Peschane and Radkivka in Sumy region.

The situation in the north

Two combat engagements occurred in the Severo-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. The enemy carried out seven airstrikes (11 guided bombs) and 88 shelling attacks, three of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Kharkiv region

In the South Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian troops repelled five attacks in the areas of Otradnoye, Kamenka, and Bologovka.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of the Defense Forces at Stepnaya Novoselovka and in the direction of Peschanoye six times.

Eastern Front

• Liman direction: 1 attack near the New World.

• Slavic direction: 5 attacks near Yampol and Dronovka.

• Kramatorsk direction: 2 assaults in the Orekhovo-Vasilovka area.

• Konstantinovskoye direction: 7 attacks near Shcherbinovka, Pleshcheyevka and Rusiny Yar.

Hot – Pokrovskoe direction

Russian troops made 31 breakthrough attempts in the areas of Vladimirovka, Rodinsky, Mirolyubovka, Novoekonomichesky, Krasny Liman, Lisovka, Pokrovsk, Zverevoy, Kotlinoy, Udachny, Molodetsky and Kotlyarovka.
All attacks were repelled, the positions of the defense forces remain unchanged.

Aleksandrovskoe direction

Ukrainian defenders repelled nine assaults in the areas of Sosnovka, Voronoye, Novonikolaevka, Novogrigoryevka, and Malinovka, with two more battles continuing.

South of Ukraine

• Gulyai-Polye direction: there were no offensive actions, air strike on Dolinka.

• Orekhov direction: 1 attack near Stepnoye, airstrike on Stepnogorsk.

• Dnieper direction: the enemy attempted three times to advance in the direction of the Antonovsky Bridge, launching an airstrike on Odradokamenka.
