There have been 74 combat contacts at the front since the start of the day: the most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsky direction.

Since the start of Wednesday, January 21, 74 combat clashes have been recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The enemy’s greatest activity has been observed in the Pokrovsk sector, where the Defense Forces have repelled 24 attacks, with two more battles ongoing.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this as of 16:00.
As a result of artillery shelling, border communities in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions suffered, in particular Ryzhevka, Kucherivka, Rogizno and Klyusy.
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 42 attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements. In the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched six attacks near Dvurechansky and in the direction of Izbitsky, Grafsky, and Kruhlye, with one clash ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction, seven attacks were recorded in the areas of Petrovpavlovka, Peschanoye, Krylovka, and Boguslavka, with three battles still ongoing. In the Liman direction, the occupiers launched six attacks near Novomikhaylovka, Drobyshevo, Yampol, as well as in the direction of Liman and Novosergeevka.
No military clashes were reported in the Slovyansk sector. In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled an assault near Stupochki. In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy launched five assaults near Pleshcheyeivka and in the direction of Kostiantynivka and Ivanopol.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops made 26 attempts to break through the defenses in the areas of Rodinsky, Pokrovsk, Kotlinoy, Udachny, Molodetsky, Filial and in the direction of Sergeyevka and Novopodgorodny.
In the Aleksandrovsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled three assaults near Soglasie, Yegorovka, and in the direction of Novo Zaporizhzhia; Velikomykhailivka suffered an airstrike with guided bombs.
In the Hulyai-Polye sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 19 attacks in the Hulyai-Polye area and in the directions of Dobropillya and Varvarivka. Verkhnyaya Tersa, Zheleznodorozhne, and Vozdvizhovka were hit by airstrikes.
No combat contact has yet been recorded in the Orekhiv and Dnieper directions, but Yulievka and Razumovka have been hit by airstrikes.
