As a result of a massive Russian missile and drone attack on the morning of August 20, consumers in Kyiv and six regions of Ukraine were left without electricity.

This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo.

According to the company, power outages were recorded in Kyiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Odessa, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. Where the security situation allows, power engineers are already carrying out emergency restoration work.

In addition, during the air raid, the high-voltage line that supplies electricity to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP was disconnected due to the attack. The station switched to power from diesel generators.

Specialists will be able to inspect the line and determine the possible location of the damage once the safety situation allows.

Ukrenergo noted that as of 9:30 a.m., electricity consumption was approximately at the level of the previous day.

In particular, Ukrainians were urged to postpone the use of powerful electrical appliances to the period from 10:00 to 16:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently. Instead, they are recommended to limit electricity consumption from 18:00 to 22:00.
