“There is nothing like it in the world”: Putin announced the testing of the Poseidon underwater nuclear device

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced the tests of the nuclear submarine Poseidon, which took place the day before, on October 28.

This is reported by Russian media.

He called Poseidon a promising complex, and the tests conducted a “huge success.”

“For the first time, we managed not only to launch it from a submarine carrier with a starter engine, but also to launch a nuclear power plant, on which the device spent a certain amount of time,” Putin said.

According to him, the device is small in size, but its power is allegedly significantly higher than that of the Sarmat intercontinental missile.

“There is nothing like this drone in the world in terms of its speed and depth of movement,” the dictator added.

In addition, he emphasized that there are currently no ways to intercept Poseidon.

“Poseidon” is an unmanned underwater vehicle that can be equipped with both conventional and nuclear munitions.

Propaganda media noted that the complex is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead with a capacity of up to two megatons. At the same time, it can reach speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour.

Earlier , the Russian dictator held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov regarding the testing of the Burevestnik cruise missile with a nuclear power plant.

As a reminder, Russian troops launched intercontinental ballistic and air-launched cruise missiles as part of strategic nuclear force training.
