There were 139 clashes at the front: where the fiercest fighting took place

Over the past 24 hours, 139 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on August 28.
According to updated information, yesterday, the invaders carried out 84 air strikes, dropped 154 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians used 5,770 kamikaze drones to destroy them and carried out 5,177 artillery attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including 86 from multiple rocket launcher systems.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Zarechye, Sumy region; Bilogirya, Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhia region; Mykolaivka, Kherson region.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery have struck four areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, one command post, four guns, and one enemy ammunition depot.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to restrain the invaders in the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions. Thus, over the past day, the enemy carried out 17 air strikes – dropping 33 guided bombs, and carried out 245 shelling, four of which were from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders stopped nine enemy assault operations.
In the South Slobozhansk direction, the aggressor attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders five times in the areas of the settlements of Hlyboke, Kolodyazne, Vovchansk, and Kamyanka.
Six attacks by the invaders took place in the Kupyansk direction yesterday. Our defenders stopped the enemy’s assault actions in the Kupyansk area.
In the Lymansky direction, the enemy attacked 20 times. He tried to penetrate our defenses in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Novy Mir, Zelenaya Dolyna, Kolodyazy, Torske, Serebryanka, and in the directions of Yampol, Zakytny, Dronivka, and Shandryholovy.
In the Siversk direction, our defenders successfully stopped three attacks near Fedorivka, Hryhorivka, and in the direction of Siversk.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out nine attacks in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Toretsk, Shcherbinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 41 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Novoekonomichne, Myrolyubivka, Sukhetske, Lysivka, Udachne, Mayak, Kotlyne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, Novoukrainka and in the directions of the settlements of Myrnograd, Rodynske, Promin, Balahan, Novopavlivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Pokrovsk.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy yesterday carried out 21 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Filiya, Ivanivka, Voskresenka, Zaporizhske, Tolstoy, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Piddubne, Komyshuvakha, Temyrivka and towards the settlements of Sichneve and Lisne.
No enemy offensive actions were recorded in the Kramatorsk, Hulyaipil, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovsk directions over the past day.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
