Over the past 24 hours, 151 combat clashes have been recorded on the front, with Russian troops significantly increasing fire pressure on Defense Forces positions and civilian settlements, launching dozens of airstrikes, massively using kamikaze drones, and launching thousands of artillery shells.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on December 16.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 90 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropped 220 guided bombs. In addition, 5,471 kamikaze drones were used to strike and 4,103 attacks were carried out on the positions of our troops and settlements, 88 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Ryzhivka, Sumy region; Havrylivka, Dnipropetrovsk region; Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Zaporizhia region.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck two areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, one artillery piece, and two enemy command posts.
One combat engagement took place in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions. The enemy launched 121 attacks, including two from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, our troops stopped four enemy attacks in the Prylipka area and in the direction of Obukhivka.
Yesterday, there was one attack by the invaders in the Kupyansk direction. Our defenders repelled an enemy assault in the Pishchane area.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 12 times, trying to penetrate our defenses in the areas of Novoselivka, Seredny, Zarechny, and towards the settlements of Drobysheve and Lyman.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attacks in the areas of Serebryanka, Dronivka, Siversk, and in the direction of Svyato-Pokrovsky.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kramatorsk direction.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the aggressor carried out 20 attacks near the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar and towards Kostyantynivka, Novopavlivka, Ivano-Frankivka, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 40 enemy assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiya and in the directions of the settlements of Hryshyne, Toretske, Bilytske and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy yesterday carried out 24 attacks near the settlements of Yalta, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Verbovye, Zlagoda, Pryvilne, Rybne, Zeleny Hai, Andriyivka-Klevtsove, Oleksandrovka, Solodke, Yehorivka and in the direction of Oleksiyivka.
In the Hulyaipil direction, the Defense Forces repelled 13 Russian attacks in the directions of Hulyaipil, Dobropil, and Varvarivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried in vain three times to break through our defenses towards Novoandreyevka, Pavlivka, and in the Shcherbaky area.
In the Dnieper direction, one attempt by the occupiers to approach the positions of Ukrainian units in the Antonivka area ended in failure.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
