There were 153 combat clashes on the front during the day. Russia actively used aviation, artillery and drones, the most intense battles continued in several directions, in particular in Pokrovsk. Ukrainian military is holding back enemy attacks.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on April 16.
Yesterday, the enemy launched two missile strikes, used 24 missiles, carried out 76 air strikes, dropped 225 guided bombs. In addition, it used 9,140 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,456 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops, including 59 from multiple rocket launchers.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, in particular in the areas of the settlements of Ivanivka and Pidhavrilivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Hulyaipilske, Vozdvizhivka, Charivne, Kopany, and Orikhiv in the Zaporizhia region.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery have struck seven areas of concentration of enemy manpower and equipment.
In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day, the enemy carried out three air strikes, dropped five guided bombs, and carried out 116 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements, three of which were by multiple launch rocket systems. One enemy assault action was recorded.
In the South Slobozhansk direction, the enemy tried four times to break through the defensive lines of our defenders in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Vovchanski Khutory.
In the Kupyansk direction, the aggressor attacked twice towards Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried to penetrate our defenses five times, attacking in the direction of the settlements of Shyykivka, Novosergiyevka, and Lyman.
In the Slavyansk direction, during the past 24 hours, our defenders stopped four attempts by the occupiers to advance in the Zakitne area and towards Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders attacked four times in the areas of the settlements of Minkivka, Nykyforivka and towards Tykhonivka and Fedorivka.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 14 attacks near the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka and towards Illinivka and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 36 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Hryshyne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, Filiya and towards the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Nove Shakhove, Shevchenko, Bilytske, Ivanivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, according to updated information, the enemy attacked eight times in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrivkagrad, Vorone, Ternove, Kalynivske, and Zlagoda.
In the Hulyaipil direction, there were 12 attacks by the invaders in the areas of Hulyaipil, Zaliznychne, Pryluky and towards the settlements of Dobropillya, Olenokostyantynivka, Hulyaipilske, Staroukrainka, Hirke, Tsvitkove.
The enemy did not conduct any assault operations in the Orikhiv direction.
In the Dnieper direction, the enemy conducted five futile assault operations in the direction of the Antoniv Bridge.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
