There were 157 clashes at the front: where the fiercest fighting took place

Over the past 24 hours, 157 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on August 22.

According to updated information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile strikes with 44 missiles and 75 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropped 125 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 5,875 kamikaze drones. The enemy also carried out 5,709 artillery attacks, including 98 from multiple launch rocket systems.

The enemy carried out airstrikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Stara Huta in Sumy region; Orikhiv, Novoukrainka, Chervona Krynytsia in Zaporizhia region; and Prydniprovske in Kherson region.

Over the past 24 hours, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces have struck nine areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two missile troops and artillery facilities, six command posts, and two fuel and lubricants warehouses of the Russian invaders.

In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four attacks by the invaders. The enemy also launched nine air strikes, using 17 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 252 shellings, six of which were from multiple rocket launcher systems.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, the enemy tried in vain ten times to advance near the settlements of Synelnykovo, Vovchansk, Khatne, Ambarne, Zapadne and in the direction of Kolodyazne.

Five attacks by the invaders took place in the Kupyansk direction yesterday. Defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the Golubivka and Kupyansk areas.

There were 24 combat clashes in the Lyman direction. The enemy tried to advance near the settlements of Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodyazi, Dibrova, Zarichne, Torske and towards Yampol.

In the Siversk direction, our troops repelled five enemy attacks in the areas of Serebryanka, Viyimka, Hryhorivka, Siversk, and Fedorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out six attacks, in the area of Bila Hora and towards Predtechyny.

Over the past day, in the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian units of the defenders six times in the areas of Oleksandro-Kalynove, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, Poltavka, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, over the past 24 hours, our defenders stopped 43 assault actions of the aggressor near the settlements of Nykanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Mykolaivka, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Horikhove, Myrolyubivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Pokrovsk, Zvirovo, Novopavlivka, Muravka, Novoukrainka, Zatyshok, Kotlyne, Udachne, Lysivka, Dachne.

In the Novopavlivske direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 35 attacks by invaders in the areas of the settlements of Voskresenka, Zaporizhske, Temyrivka, Zelene Pole, Tolstoy, Lisne, Olhivske and in the direction of the settlements of Komyshuvakha and Filiya.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Hulyaipil and Orikhiv directions.

In the Dnieper direction, enemy units tried to advance twice – but were unsuccessful.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
