Over the past 24 hours, 167 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on August 21.
The enemy launched two missile strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, using five missiles, 61 air strikes, dropping 127 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 5,407 attacks, including 123 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,939 kamikaze drones to destroy them.
Air strikes were carried out, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Stara Huta, Nova Huta in Sumy region; Bilogirya, Orikhiv, Primorske in Zaporizhia region; Burgunka, Mykolaivka, Lvov in Kherson region.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile troops, and artillery have struck seven areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, four artillery systems, one air defense system, and a command post of the Russian invaders.
Four combat clashes took place in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day. In addition, the enemy carried out 16 air strikes, dropping 40 guided bombs, and also carried out 207 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including 16 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk, Ambarne, Figolivka and in the directions of Khatne, Katerynivka.
Two attacks by the invaders took place in the Kupyansk direction. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the areas of Golubivka and towards Kupyansk.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 33 times, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Karpivka, Ridkodub, Kolodyazi, Myrne, Torske and towards the settlements of Olhivka, Shandryholove, Yampil, Dronivka, and Hryhorivka.
In the Siversky direction, our defenders repelled five assaults by occupation forces near Hryhorivka, Pereyzne, and towards Viymka and Fedorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one clash was recorded near the settlement of Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Yablunivka, Shcherbinivka and in the direction of Stepanivka, Poltavka, Popovy Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 53 clashes took place in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Fedorivka, Kucheriv Yar, Novoekonomichne, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirovo, Kotlyne, Udachne, Horikhove, Novoukrainka, Dachne and in the direction of Pokrovsk, Bilytskyi, Rodynske, Myrnograd, Novopavlivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces stopped 28 enemy attempts to break through the defensive lines in the areas of the settlements of Tolstoy, Shevchenko, Vilne Pole, Voskresenka, Zelene Pole and towards Filia, Iskra, Komyshuvakha, Sichneve, and Novohrygorivka.
The enemy did not conduct any assault operations in the Hulyaipil direction.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled one enemy attack in the direction of Primorske.
In the Dnieper direction, enemy units tried to advance three times and were repulsed.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
