There were 184 clashes at the front: where the fiercest fighting took place

Over the past 24 hours, 184 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on October 16.

The enemy launched one missile strike with two missiles and 87 air strikes, dropping 171 guided bombs, on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements. In addition, it carried out 4,979 attacks, including more than a hundred from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,595 kamikaze drones to destroy them.

The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Sumy, Sumy region; Kostyantynivka, Dobropillya, Donetsk region; Apostolovo, Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region; Yehorivka, Orikhiv, Zaporizhia region; Novovorontsovka, Kozatske, Kherson region.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery have struck six areas of personnel concentration and two command posts of the Russian invaders.

In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out nine air strikes, dropped 18 guided bombs, and carried out 186 shellings, including ten from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, 17 combat clashes took place yesterday near Vovchansk, Vovchanskiye Khutory, Tykhy, Kamyanka, Kutkivka, and in the direction of Okhrimivka, Odradne, and Bologivka.

In the Kupyansk direction, six attacks by the invaders took place over the past day. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka. Counter-sabotage measures are ongoing in the city of Kupyansk and its surroundings – our soldiers are detecting enemy infantry groups, blocking their advance and destroying them.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked seven times, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Hrekivka, Kolodyazi, Novoselivka, and Derylove.

In the Slavyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled ten enemy attacks over the past day. The occupier units tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Serebryanka, Yampil, Dronivka, Viyimka and Fedorivka.

One combat clash was recorded in the Kramatorsk direction – the enemy tried to advance in the direction of Predtechyny.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 25 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bila Hora, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Oleksandro-Kalynove, and Rusyn-Yar.

In the Pokrovsky direction, our defenders stopped 56 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Myrolyubivka, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirovo, Chunyshyne, Udachne, Kotlyarivka, Horikhove, and Filiya.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 30 enemy attacks near the settlements of Zeleny Hai, Ivanivka, Oleksandrgrad, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Oleksiivka, Novomykolaivka, Novohrygorivka, Malynivka, and Poltavka.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Hulyaipil direction.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked five times, trying to operate in the areas of the settlements of Kamyanske, Plavni, and Stepove.

In the Dnieper direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the invaders.
