There were 217 clashes at the front: where the fiercest fighting took place

Over the past 24 hours, 217 combat clashes have occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The hottest situation remains in the Pokrov direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 08:00 on October 9.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 87 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropped 192 guided bombs. In addition, 5,827 kamikaze drones were used to strike and 4,192 attacks were carried out on the positions of our troops and settlements, 118 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Bilogirya, Stepnohirsk, Lukyanivske, Prymorske, Hryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Prydniprovske, Virivka in the Kherson region.
Yesterday, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck two areas of personnel concentration, two drone control points, a material and technical equipment warehouse, and two enemy command and observation posts.
Nine combat clashes were recorded in the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day. The enemy carried out 12 air strikes, dropped a total of 33 guided bombs and carried out 179 artillery attacks, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South-Slobozhansk direction, 34 combat clashes occurred in the areas of Vovchansk, Zapadny, Dovgeny, towards Kolodyazny, Kutkivka, Odradny, Dvorichansky, and Lyptsy.
Seven attacks by the invaders were recorded in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the areas of Kupyansk, Stepovaya Novoselivka, and towards Kurylivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 15 times, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Derylove, Karpivka, Torske and in the direction of Olhivka and Novy Mir.
In the Slavyansk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces ten times in the areas of Yampol, Viyimka, Fedorivka, Dronivka, and Hryhorivka.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kramatorsk direction over the past day.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out seventeen attacks near Rusyn Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyn, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Poltavka, and in the direction of Kostyantynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 58 attacks by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Zatyshok, Nykanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Lysivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Myrolyubivka, Dachne, Muravka and in the direction of the settlements of Myrnograd, Balahan, Pokrovsk, Filiya.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled forty enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Andriyivka-Klevtsove, Piddubne, Sosnivka, Filiya, Sichneve, Komyshuvakha, Vorone, Verbove, Oleksiyivka, Novomykolaivka, Novohrygorivka, Poltavka, and Malynivka.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Hulyaipil direction.
Nine clashes took place in the Orikhiv direction over the past day – the occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Stepove, Kamianske and in the direction of Novoandreivka.
In the Dnieper direction, Ukrainian units repelled one attack by the invaders towards the Antoniv Bridge.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
