There were 278 clashes at the front: where the enemy attacked most actively

Over the past 24 hours, 278 combat clashes have been recorded at the front, during which Russian troops significantly intensified the use of aviation, artillery, and strike drones, carrying out dozens of airstrikes, thousands of shellings, and massive attacks by kamikaze drones on Defense Forces positions and front-line settlements.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on December 17.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 74 air strikes, dropped 179 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 3,729 attacks, including 75 from multiple rocket launcher systems, and engaged 3,523 kamikaze drones to destroy them.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, on the areas of the settlements of Ivanivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Vozdvizhivka, Zaliznychne, Ternuvaty, Zorivka, Nove Pole, Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhia region.
In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 Russian attacks. The enemy launched three air strikes, dropped eight guided bombs, and carried out 138 attacks, including eight from multiple rocket launchers.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, our troops stopped nine enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Synelnykovo and towards Izbitsky, Obukhivka, and Kolodyazny.
Yesterday, 24 attacks by the invaders took place in the Kupyansk direction. Our defenders repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the direction of Kupyansk, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Pishchane, Novoplatonivka, Golubivka, and Novaya Kruglyakivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 27 times, trying to penetrate our defenses in the Torske area and towards the settlements of Lyman, Stepove, Koroviy Yar, Zarichne, Drobysheve, Novoselivka, Stavky, and Hlushchenkove.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled six enemy attacks in the areas of Siversk, Serebryanka, and towards Pazeno.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy once attacked the positions of our defenders in the direction of Bondarne.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 24 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Ivano-Frankivka, Rusyn Yar, Yablunivka, and towards Sofiivka and Kostyantynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 82 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Kotlyne, Udachne, Pokrovsk and towards Rivne, Myrnograd, Rodynske, Hryshyn, Zvirovye, Sergiyevka, Novopavlivka, Filia, Novyy Shakhovye, Dorozhnye, Sukhetske, Vilnye, and Ivanivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy yesterday carried out 20 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Zeleny Hai, Sichneve, Krasnohirske, Zlagoda, Rybne and towards Ivanivka, Iskra, Oleksandrovgrad, Verbovye, and Pryvilne.
In the Hulyaipil direction, the Defense Forces repelled 28 Russian attacks in the area of the settlement of Solodke and towards Varvarivka, Hulyaipil.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried in vain eight times to break through our defenses in the areas of the settlements of Shcherbaki, Stepove and in the directions of Malaya Tokmachka, Novoandreyevka, and Prymorske.
No clashes were recorded in the Prydniprovs’kyi direction.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
