There will be no more kopecks: The Council adopted a decision

On Thursday, December 18, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada supported the renaming of “kopecks” to “steps” in the first reading.
This became known from the Verkhovna Rada meeting.
264 MPs voted “for” the relevant decision. The draft law will now await a second reading.
It is worth noting that this project was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on October 1.
We will remind you that the National Bank of Ukraine initiated the change of the name of the coins from “kopeck” to “step”.
As is known, the head of the NBU emphasized that the corresponding reform of the monetary system does not involve any additional costs .
Previously, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) criticized the draft law , which provides for the renaming of kopecks to shags.
