Ukrainian defenders who require long-term treatment after being released from captivity will receive a monthly allowance of 50,000 hryvnias.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the relevant bill No. 13627 with 244 votes of people’s deputies, reports ” Suspilne “.

The document provides for payments for servicemen who, after returning from captivity in the Russian Federation, undergo inpatient treatment for more than 30 days. Financial support will be provided during the first three months of treatment.

This document also regulates the procedure for issuing certificates for injuries or illnesses sustained while in captivity. Previously, such payments were provided only to servicemen who were wounded or maimed, but the new law extends this assistance to servicemen who suffered serious illnesses or their exacerbation in captivity.

The purpose of the law is to provide financial support and simplify procedures for released Ukrainian military personnel who require long-term treatment and rehabilitation.

As a reminder, journalist Dmytro Khlyuk, previously released from Russian captivity, spoke about the terrible horrors of being in captivity .

Also on August 14, another 84 people were returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity . These are military and civilians, almost all of whom need medical assistance.
