US President Donald Trump said there was a “good chance” of meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
He said this during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“There is always a chance, a very good chance,” the American president replied to journalists’ questions about the likelihood of a meeting in Budapest.
However, according to Trump, there are certain obstacles to a summit with Putin. In particular, the head of the White House emphasized that the Russians do not want to end the war in Ukraine, which prevents him from meeting with the dictator.
“But I think they will do it,” the US president concluded.
Recall, Donald Trump intended to meet with the head of the Kremlin in Hungary in order to put an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
As is known, preparations were underway in Budapest for the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
However, the United States later canceled the planned meeting after Moscow made too tough demands on Ukraine, which proved unacceptable to Washington.
