Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has warned that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s policies align with Russian interests, cautioning that backing Budapest’s stance threatens European unity and support for Ukraine.
He wrote about this in X.
Sikorsky stressed that the actions of the Hungarian government create obstacles to decision-making in the European Union, in particular regarding support for Ukraine.
“Moscow supports Orban because he sabotages the European Union and blocks sanctions and financing of Ukraine,” said Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
According to him, such a position has a direct impact on the security situation in the region and complicates coordination between European countries.
“So whoever supports Orban helps Moscow. It’s really that simple,” said Radosław Sikorski.
He also emphasized that when assessing the actions of European politicians, it is necessary to take into account the consequences of their decisions for the European Union’s common policy towards Ukraine.
By the way, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was booed during a speech in the city of Győr, which is traditionally considered a stronghold of his Fidesz party.
Ukraine recently accepted the European Union’s offer of financial and technical assistance to restore the Druzhba oil pipeline.
Previously, some European countries and the European Commission asked Ukraine to grant access to the damaged section of the oil pipeline but were reportedly denied permission to inspect the site.
As is known, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a possible interruption of electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not resumed.
