They established their own innocence – lawyer Golovan on the “Mindich tapes” and the role of the State Bureau of Investigation

The SBI investigated itself and decided that it was innocent – lawyer Ihor Golovan, in his blog on “Ukrainian Pravda “, trolled the State Bureau of Investigation’s statement regarding the recordings on the “Mindich tapes” about the alleged participation of security officers in carrying out the orders of a criminal organization.

“SBI officials report that as a result of the lightning-fast investigation they conducted against themselves, they have preliminarily established their own innocence,” the lawyer noted.

He quoted the Bureau’s official statement following the results of the internal investigation: “The possible influence of the persons involved in the Midas case on the SBI employees was particularly carefully checked. The investigation results established that no pressure, influence, or instructions in the interests of third parties were exerted on the SBI employees, and no actions were taken at the request of the persons involved in the NABU case.”

“It turns out that on November 14, 2025, the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation revealed the initiative by which the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation registered criminal proceedings against themselves. And in record time, literally, in a few days, it was established (preliminarily true) that the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation and all his associates “are not to blame for anything,” the lawyer ironically says.

“That they are, like, not a “station” from the “Minditchgate tapes”, but a solid law enforcement agency. The SBI method, as always, is from the arsenal of Portnov’s bad memory. To mess up a controlled case and write out a “certificate of innocence”. Only all this fuss is much more like a confession. If the hats on the gentlemen from the SBI are not yet burning, then they are smoldering noticeably,” notes Ihor Golovan.

“It goes without saying that this trick does not prove any “innocence”. But the SBI will try to use its proceedings as a tool to influence the NABU investigation. Because, again, they are Portnov’s pupils,” Golovan summarizes.

As is known, in the published conversations recorded by NABU operatives as part of the investigation of the corruption scheme, the participants in the conspiracy talked about the possibility of involving security forces in the deal. In particular, the “station” was mentioned, under this code name, the SBI probably appeared, since the main office of the Bureau is located near the Central Station in Kyiv.
