They took advantage of the situation: why gas stations raised fuel prices
Ukrainian gas stations, taking advantage of events in the Middle East, raised fuel prices to increase profits, despite the fact that the situation in the Persian Gulf had not yet had an impact on the market.
This is stated in the DeepState message.
“According to our information from among the top fuel companies, they raised fuel prices, taking advantage of world events to increase profits, realizing that the impact of the situation in the Persian Gulf on the market has not yet been felt,” the analysts said.
Ukrainian gas stations had enough reserves to not raise product prices for at least a month. In the future, global events may affect pricing.
“It is important to note that this applies specifically to top companies, which are the ones that form the market price,” DeepState emphasized.
It is separately noted that companies currently do not plan to reduce fuel prices.
On social media, the head of the financial committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, called on representatives of the fuel market to “come to their senses” and not force them to contact the Antimonopoly Committee.
“In a country where there is a war and half of the country is on generators, a powerful business like yours also has a certain social function that does not allow panic to be used for super profits,” he noted.
Let us remind you that fuel prices continue to rise in Ukraine . Overnight, Wednesday, March 4, large gas station chains raised prices again.
The day before, prices at popular gas stations increased by an average of 2 hryvnias per liter, however, in some places the price increased by 3 hryvnias.
As reported, market operators explain this by news about problems with oil supplies from the Persian Gulf region.
