As a result of a massive rocket attack on the night of July 10, the office of Channel 5 was significantly damaged, and one of the studios was almost completely destroyed. Fortunately, the channel’s employees were not injured, as they managed to hide in time.
This was announced by the General Director of Channel 5, Volodymyr Mzhelsky.
“Today, about 30 “Shaheeds” flew in our direction. And it seems to me that this is some kind of honor from Mr. Putin – to be attacked at once by such a huge number of rather large “birds”. I arrived at the canal, it was not yet 6 o’clock, and it seemed to me that I had arrived at some kind of dump, because everything was simply strewn with glass, everything was turned over, smashed. Physically, half of the doors did not open. We had three people on shift who were engaged in night broadcasting, thank God, they came down in time after the first wave,” said Mzhelsky.
“As the guys say, they hid in a closet because they didn’t have the strength to run to a full-fledged bomb shelter. Some dogs even huddled near them. That is, people and animals were hiding from all the incomprehensible inhumans who have been causing us such trouble for the first year, unfortunately,” he added.
At the same time, he reported that this shelling significantly affected the broadcasting of Channel 5, as one of the studios was completely destroyed.
“The trouble is that we can only broadcast from a small studio, because we don’t have a large studio now. The studio from which we broadcast in the evenings is completely destroyed, it is demobilized, demoralized… There is not a single window there, the “green” is all scattered, the cameras have fallen, now we need to understand whether they will work. There are a lot of nuances that, unfortunately, we cannot resolve right now,” Mzhelsky noted.
Recall, on the night of Thursday, July 10, Russia launched a combined strike on Kyiv . During the airstrike, the use of kamikaze drones and missiles of various types was recorded in the city.
As a result of the massive night attack on the capital , the office of Channel 5 suffered significant damage . All employees who were in the building during the night shift were not injured. There is damage to the studio, part of the filming equipment was destroyed, and workplaces were damaged. The channel later resumed broadcasting.
It was previously reported that as a result of Russia’s massive missile strike on the Kyiv region on May 25 , the house of Channel 5 Director General Volodymyr Mzhelsky was completely destroyed in the village of Markhalivka.
