“This has nothing to do with the Middle East”: Trump blames Ukraine for diesel shortage due to strikes on Russian refineries

US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian fuel infrastructure, saying the Ukrainian attacks are causing a diesel fuel shortage in Russia.

Trump made the relevant statement during a visit to the Irish Open Golf Championship.
“Zelenskyy needs to do one thing – stop destroying diesel fuel in Russia. He is creating a diesel fuel shortage. This is not related to the Middle East – this is because of the war between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said.
According to the American president, it is Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil infrastructure that are one of the causes of problems with the supply of diesel fuel in the world.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump may hold a personal meeting as early as September. The parties have previously agreed to the meeting, and one of the possible venues is the UN General Assembly in New York.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had an hour-long telephone conversation on September 8. The parties discussed the war against Ukraine and the results of recent trips by American representatives to Kyiv and Moscow.
