“This won’t happen”: Poland does not support the idea of Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU

The head of Poland’s foreign ministry, Radosław Sikorski, said that he is against Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the European Union.

Commenting on the position of future Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar on Ukraine, Sikorsky said that he shares his views on Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU.

The Polish minister agreed with the Hungarian politician and rejected the idea. According to Sikorski, there will be no accelerated accession.

“This will not happen. We believe that Ukraine must fulfill all the conditions, just as we had to,” he stressed.

Earlier, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Cos stated that despite the fact that Ukraine is an important partner of the European Union, accession to the bloc by 2027 is impossible .
