This year, the capital faces the most difficult heating season since the war – Klitschko
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that this year the capital is facing the most difficult heating season in all the years of the full-scale war.
He wrote about this in Telegram.
According to him, the Russian occupiers are systematically hitting energy and heat-generating facilities with missiles and drones.
“They are doing everything they can to destroy and destroy critical infrastructure. And in this anomalous situation, it is difficult for air defense forces to work. We see this in other cities where a critical situation has already developed,” Klitschko noted.
He emphasized that the experience of previous years was taken into account during preparations for the new heating season.
“We repaired the most worn-out and enemy-damaged sections of the networks. We conducted hydraulic tests. We repaired and equipped boiler houses. We increased the supply of independent power sources and mobile boiler houses,” the Kyiv mayor added.
In addition, a program for the energy sustainability of residential buildings was implemented, and protection of energy facilities was created, in accordance with the requirements of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Klitschko noted that today the Kyiv City Council must adopt decisions that will allow for the implementation of additional measures taking into account various security scenarios. This concerns the reconstruction of the water supply and drainage system by introducing alternative and backup power sources.
“We will have to redistribute funds from other planned items,” the official summarized.
It was previously reported that the Russian army had begun destroying energy regions in Ukraine , using scorched earth tactics.
As reported, on Wednesday, October 22, emergency power outages were implemented in Kyiv, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
By the way, the capital is experiencing large-scale problems with electricity supply and public transport due to the consequences of another missile attack by Russia.
