Three European countries refused to send troops to Ukraine

The leadership of Italy, Poland, and Romania has stated that it has no intention of deploying its troops on the territory of Ukraine, even after a possible cessation of hostilities.

This is stated in the official statements of the leaders of these countries.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni confirmed that Rome is not considering a military presence in Ukraine. At the same time, Italy is ready to participate in monitoring, training and peace process support missions outside Ukrainian territory.

Maloney also emphasized the need to create a collective security mechanism, similar to Article 5 of the NATO charter, which would provide for a joint response to new aggression.

Romanian President Nicos Dan stated that the decision not to send troops to Ukraine is a consolidated position of the entire political leadership of the country. However, Romania is open to participating in peacekeeping and stabilization missions in the future.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also ruled out the possibility of a direct military presence on Ukrainian territory, both during active hostilities and after the potential end of the war. Instead, Warsaw will continue to provide logistical, technical and political support without involving armed forces in the conflict.

Recall that European military structures have completed the development of a plan that provides for the deployment of forces on the territory of Ukraine.

As reported, the idea of sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine after a possible peace agreement with Russia is facing strong resistance among the public in EU countries.
