According to Oksana Korol, spokeswoman for the State Emergency Service in the Kirovohrad region, the tragedy occurred on October 26 in the village of Novyi Starodub, Oleksandriya district. Previously, the cause of the poisoning was a violation of the rules for operating gas appliances in the house.

“Three people died from carbon monoxide poisoning, two of them were children born in 2010 and 2011. Another child born in 2025 and a woman born in 1988 were injured. They were taken to the hospital,” the State Emergency Service reported.

Service specialists reminded of safety rules to prevent similar incidents.

In particular, you should not leave turned-on gas appliances unattended, you should regularly check ventilation ducts and chimneys, and ventilate the room.
