Three shots for five years in prison: in Kyiv, a 20-year-old guy wanted to “impress girls” by launching flares

In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, a 20-year-old man fired three shots into the air from a signal device near residential buildings. According to police, he did this to attract the attention of girls his group had met that evening.

This is reported by the Kyiv police.

A local resident contacted the police, reporting that he had seen a group of young people from his apartment window firing shots from a signal device in the courtyard of a residential building.

Patrol officers and an investigative and operational team arrived at the scene. Upon seeing the law enforcement officers, the company tried to escape, but the police detained the participants in the incident.

Law enforcement officers determined that the young men had met the girls on the street that evening. One of them, wanting to impress them, took out a threaded launcher that he had previously purchased online and fired 3 shots into the air near residential buildings.

Investigators from the Holosiivka Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Holosiivka District Prosecutor’s Office informed a 20-year-old Kyiv resident of suspicion of hooliganism. The man faces up to 5 years of restriction of liberty for the offense.
