Three tankers linked to the so-called Russian shadow fleet were attacked in the Black Sea off the northern coast of Turkey.

This is reported by Türkiye Today with reference to the shipping agency Tribeca.

According to the agency, the Palau-flagged tanker James II was empty and approximately 80 kilometers north of the Turkeli area at the time of the incident.

Two other tankers – the Altura and Velora, flagged by Sierra Leone – were attacked while transferring cargo between ships.

Rescue boats were dispatched to the scene after the incident. According to preliminary information, none of the crew members were injured.

The publication recalled that after the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine in the Black Sea, there were repeated attacks on ports, ships, and infrastructure from both sides.

So far, neither Ukraine nor Russia have officially commented on the new attacks on tankers.

Recall thatRussia continues to expand its shadow fleet for transporting liquefied natural gas, which is under US sanctions.
