In Hungary, one of the detained employees of Oschadbank may have been injected with the drug during interrogation. According to Ukrainian sources, this could have affected his health and behavior during the investigation.
This is reported by The Guardian .
According to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine, this is a so-called “relaxant drug”, which could have been used to force the detainee to talk more during interrogations.
“The forced injection contained a relaxant drug that was supposed to make the man more talkative during interrogations,” sources in the Security Service of Ukraine said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that one of the detained Ukrainian debt collectors, who has diabetes, was forcibly administered a drug that he refused. After that, his blood sugar level rose sharply and he developed hypertension, which led to his hospitalization.
After returning to Ukraine, according to sources, tests allegedly showed traces of the drug in question in the detainee’s blood.
Journalists note that Ukrainian interlocutors compare this case with the practices of using so-called “truth serums” used by the USSR’s special services.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also reported on the conditions of detention of the detained employees of Oschadbank in Hungary. According to them, the people were kept in handcuffs for 28 hours, transported blindfolded, and subjected to psychological and physical pressure.
The department added that the detainees were not allowed to testify in Ukrainian, they were communicated with in Russian, and their requests and requests from their lawyer for legal protection remained unanswered.
Recall that recently the Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens – employees of Oschadbank – and seized the money they were transporting. At the same time, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban visited the anti-terrorist center on the day the Ukrainian collection vehicles were seized. Later that day, security officers from this unit seized a car with currency and gold.
Subsequently, seven collectors of Oschadbank, who were previously detained in Hungary, were deported from the country and returned to Ukraine . Meanwhile, the National Bank of Ukraine is working to return the cargo from the collector’s cars , which were detained by the Hungarian authorities. The regulator called the incident a provocation without legal grounds. It also became known that the Hungarian authorities are ready to transfer two confiscated Oschadbank cars to Ukraine, however, they do not plan to return the funds and gold .
According to political scientist Serhiy Taran, the incident with the detention in Hungary of a vehicle carrying a large sum of money is artificially tied to the election campaign of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is currently trying to increase his own rating through the confrontation with Ukraine.
