To honor those who died in the war, Kyiv will close Khreshchatyk.

In Kyiv, every day at 9:00 a.m., Khreshchatyk Street will be closed to honor those who died in the war against the Russian invaders.

The head of the Kyiv city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, announced this.

“By the end of the week, we will begin closing Khreshchatyk Street every day at 9:00 a.m. for a national minute of silence. Khreshchatyk Street is the heart of the capital. And the capital is the heart and example for all of Ukraine. I expect not understanding, but respect from those who gave their lives for ours,” Tkachenko said.

According to him, corresponding instructions will be issued to the patrol police, the Traffic Management Center, the Department of Transport, and departments responsible for public communications.
