U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington could soon make “total victory” claims in talks with Iran, adding that a breakthrough in negotiations may come within two weeks as diplomatic efforts intensify.

This is reported by CNN.

Trump claims that Tehran is ready to make serious concessions, including abandoning the development of nuclear weapons.

“We are negotiating now, and they want to make a very good deal. They are ready to give us everything; they are ready to give up nuclear weapons,” the American president said.

He also expressed confidence that the confrontation would end in the United States’ favor.

“I think we’re going to win this battle. It’s going to be a total victory, it’s going to happen very soon, and oil prices are going to drop dramatically,” Trump said.

During the interview, journalists asked the US president why Iran has not yet agreed to the deal if, as he says, it is eager to conclude one.

“Because they are strong. They are proud. There are things they never thought they would do, but they have to do them. They have no choice. And it will take some time,” the head of the White House replied.

At the same time, American media outlets point out that Trump has repeatedly spoken about possible breakthroughs in international issues over the course of “two weeks,” but such predictions have not always come true.

Recall that US President Donald Trump previously said he expects to reach a peace deal with Iran this week.
