Tragedy in Sumy region: Russian drone kills family with two children, five dead in 24 hours

On the night of Tuesday, September 30, Russian troops launched a strike with a drone at a residential building in the village of Chernechchyna, Krasnopil community, Sumy region. A couple with two young sons, ages 4 and 6, lived in the house. Unfortunately, no one survived. Rescuers pulled the bodies of four victims from under the rubble.

The head of the Sumy OVA, Oleg Hrygorov, confirmed the tragedy.

“This is a terrible and irreparable loss for the entire community and region. The death of a family in Chernechyn is a tragedy that we will never forget or forgive,” his post says.

According to the National Police, 27 attacks on 22 settlements in the Sumy region were recorded over the past 24 hours. As a result of enemy attacks, another civilian was killed, an apartment building, a utility company, private homes, and a car were damaged.

“The enemy strike took the lives of an entire family. Police investigative and operational teams and explosives technicians worked at the scene. All facts of the crimes have been documented, criminal proceedings have been opened,” the police reported.

Thus, in just one day, Russian attacks in the Sumy region took the lives of five civilians, including two children.

As a reminder, earlier in the village of Znob-Novgorodska hromada in Sumy region, an enemy drone hit a passenger car . As a result of the attack, a 59-year-old man died, and another person was injured.

Russian occupation forces also attacked frontline communities in Sumy region . Two women were injured as a result of the strike.
