Trilateral meeting in the UAE: the Russian side officially confirmed participation

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that talks between Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and US representatives were “constructive and as frank as possible.” He said the Russian delegation would also take part in a trilateral working meeting in Abu Dhabi (UAE), scheduled for Friday.

As Ushakov notes, during the negotiations, key issues of conflict resolution were discussed, in particular territorial aspects, and it was “stated that without their resolution, it is impossible to count on long-term agreement.”

The Russian side at the meeting will be led by Igor Kostyukov, Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Ushakov reported that “the first round of the trilateral working group on security with the participation of Russia, the United States and Ukraine will be held on Friday in Abu Dhabi.” The Russian delegation included representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, and the participants themselves received “specific instructions on conducting negotiations” from Putin.

At the same time, Ushakov added that Moscow will continue to achieve the goals of the so-called “special operation” and reserves the right to use force until a political and diplomatic settlement is reached.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said thata trilateral meeting of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

We would like to remind you that from the Ukrainian side, the meeting in the UAE on January 23-24 will be attended by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, the Head of the Presidential Administration Kyrylo Budanov, the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Kyslytsia, the head of the “Servant of the People” faction Davyd Arakhamia, and the Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov .

Putin’s talks with US representatives lasted more than three and a half hours — from Thursday evening to Friday night, Moscow time.
