US President Donald Trump said Ukraine should elect a new leader and accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of being unwilling to end the war. He also called on Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries.
This is reported by DWS News .
Trump believes that Zelensky could have ended the war many times before, but he himself does not want to. According to him, Ukraine needs a leader who can make a deal.
“I think Ukraine needs to elect a new leader who can make a deal. For some reason, Zelensky never makes deals,” Trump said.
He also said that there was no reason for the war between Ukraine and Russia to start. According to him, it started due to “incompetence.” Trump reiterated that he would not have allowed Russia to invade if he had been president at the time.
“It would never have started. There was no reason for this war between Ukraine and Russia to start. It shouldn’t have happened at all,” he said.
Separately, Trump said that he had urged Zelensky to refrain from attacks on diesel fuel production and processing infrastructure. According to him, the Ukrainian side did not take this into account.
“What did he do? He went and attacked diesel fuel,” Trump said. He added that Zelensky “can do whatever he wants, but he can’t do this.”
The American president stressed that the strikes on Russian refineries are creating problems for the global diesel market. According to him, this threatens farmers and ranchers in the United States.
“Zelensky wants to create problems for the whole world. He could hurt our farmers and ranchers who need diesel fuel, as Russia supplies a significant portion of it to the world market,” Trump said.
Recall that US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the American and world markets. According to him, Russia should immediately supply more than 300 thousand tons of fuel, and later – several million tons more.
Subsequently, the United Kingdom, Finland and the European Union reacted to the agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply Russian diesel fuel to the American and world markets. Representatives of European states and the European Commission stressed the need to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia and reduce dependence on its energy resources.
