Trump allowed the introduction of 200% tariffs on Ukraine and Russia.

Clash Report reports this, citing the words of the American president.

Trump claims that by threatening to impose high tariffs he has managed to end five wars.

“Thanks to tariffs, we ended five wars. I said, ‘If you keep fighting, we’ll impose a 200 percent tariff on you,’ and they stopped,” the US president said.

He suggested that a similar approach could be applied to Ukraine and Russia.

“We should probably apply this to Ukraine and Russia immediately. I never thought about it,” Trump said.

At the same time, the American president questioned the effectiveness of such a mechanism, noting that the United States imports too few goods from these countries for high tariffs to be an effective tool of pressure.
