“According to two sources familiar with the matter, President Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday and they discussed the possibility of Ukraine receiving long-range Tomahawk missiles,” Axios reported.

According to the publication, the transfer of these missiles could significantly expand Ukraine’s capabilities in confronting Russian aggression, giving it the ability to strike deep into Russian territory, including Moscow. In Kyiv, it is believed that such weapons could increase pressure on the Kremlin and force Vladimir Putin to move to real negotiations.

Despite the discussions, a final decision on the transfer of the Tomahawk has not yet been made. Journalists report that the White House declined to provide official comments when asked by journalists.

As is known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump , which he called “good and very productive.”

By the way, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, reported that Ukraine and the United States are negotiating and “working to agree on all these details” regarding the possible provision of Tomahawk cruise missiles – there is no categorical refusal at the moment, but a detailed and active discussion about technical and organizational nuances is ongoing.

It is worth noting that the White House administration is concerned about whether it will be possible to control the use of such missiles after their transfer to allies and further to the Ukrainian side.
