US President Donald Trump announced that the American and Iranian sides will hold talks on June 30 in the capital of Qatar – Until now.
The head of the White House wrote about this on his social network Truth Social.
“Iran has requested a meeting. It will take place tomorrow in Doha!” Trump declared.
At the same time, CNN notes that Iran’s chief negotiator, Kazem Gharibabadi, previously told reporters that there were no technical working group meetings scheduled for this week.
So far, the parties have not released any official details regarding the agenda of future negotiations or the composition of the delegations.
It was previously reported that US-Iran talks in Switzerland were in jeopardy following harsh statements from US President Donald Trump against Tehran. The Iranian delegation walked out of the meeting, and the future of the negotiations remains unclear.
The day before, Iran restricted the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz , despite signing an agreement with the United States. At the same time, according to journalists, the United States assured Iran that Israel would not escalate attacks in Lebanon.
