On February 3, US President Donald Trump announced possible positive progress in resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine.

He told reporters about this at the White House.

Trump said his administration was “doing a great job” on the Ukraine-Russia issue, and that “good news” might be coming soon. He also noted the deep hatred between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but expressed hope that his own contacts with Putin could ease the path to agreement.

Trump again recalled the alleged agreement he reached with Putin to refrain from attacking Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure during severe frosts. He claimed he asked the Russian leader to hold off on attacks on Kyiv and other cities for a week, and Putin agreed.
