US President Donald Trump said he expects to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in the near future. According to him, there is significant progress in relations between Washington and Moscow regarding the war in Ukraine.
Trump told reporters about this on the morning of October 28.
“We have made significant progress in our relations with Russia — in the context of Russia and Ukraine. There will be a meeting soon, and I think significant progress will be made,” the American president said.
When reporters asked what meeting he was talking about, Trump replied that he was talking about negotiations involving Putin and Zelensky.
“Meeting with Putin and Zelensky. And I think significant progress will be made,” he added.
At the same time, Trump did not specify where and when such a meeting might take place, nor did he say whether the leaders of Ukraine and Russia had agreed to hold it.
As reported, Ukraine, the US and Russia may hold trilateral talks on a ceasefire as early as November 4. A preliminary meeting is planned to be organized in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
