US President Donald Trump has said the United States will no longer fund the war in Ukraine. He stressed that Washington will try to focus on finding ways to end the conflict.
Donald Trump announced this during a meeting of his cabinet at the White House.
According to the president, most of the arms supplies to Ukraine were carried out at the expense of NATO countries, which purchased weapons from the United States and transferred them to Kiev. Trump also said that America had spent “significant funds” to support Ukraine, but now wants to end the “Ukrainian crisis.”
Trump added that US representatives are supposedly in Russia to assess the possibilities of resolving the war. He stated that he has already “finished eight wars” and this, he said, should be the ninth. The president reiterated that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if he had been in power in 2022.
It was previously reported that Donald Trump’s administration is making a new attempt to advance the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia – and is again relying not on classic diplomats, but on its own circle of trusted individuals.
As a reminder, the European Union has outlined its position on future US negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
