US President Donald Trump announced his intention to transfer Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine because he does not like the shelling of civilians.

He told reporters about this during a briefing at Andrews base, Reuters reports.

“We’re going to send Patriots, which they really need, because Putin has really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice, and then in the evening he bombs everyone. But there’s a little problem here. I don’t like it,” Trump said.

The head of the White House did not specify the exact number of Patriot missiles that he plans to send to Ukraine, but added that the EU will reimburse the US for their cost.

It is noted that he is increasingly disappointed in Putin as he resists attempts to negotiate a ceasefire.

“We are essentially going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military equipment. They will pay us 100% for it, and that is exactly what we want,” Trump said.

It was previously reported that Norway and Germany will finance the purchase of three Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine from the United States .

Recall that US President Donald Trump probably promised Volodymyr Zelensky to provide Patriot missiles to strengthen Ukrainian air defense.
