Trump congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day

US President Donald Trump congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day, noting support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and future.
The letter, according to him, was published by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The people of Ukraine have an indomitable spirit, and your country’s courage is an inspiration to many. On this important day, know that the United States respects your struggle, respects your sacrifice, and believes in the future of Ukraine as an independent nation,” Trump’s message reads.
The American leader also mentioned the Russian-Ukrainian war, stressing that it was time to “put an end to the senseless killings.” According to him, Washington is in favor of a negotiated settlement that guarantees long-term peace and protects Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Zelensky thanked the United States for its support, stressing that Kyiv and Washington stand “side by side, defending independence, freedom and peace.”
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also sent congratulations on Independence Day. He noted the courage of the Ukrainian people and expressed hope for further strengthening of the economic and security partnership between the states.
Earlier, the fifth president and leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko congratulated Ukrainians on the Independence Day of our state.
