US Senator Lindsey Graham announced that US President Donald Trump has given the “green light” to a bipartisan bill regarding sanctions against Russia.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“After a very productive meeting today with President Trump on a variety of issues, he green-lighted a bipartisan bill on sanctions against Russia […]. This will be timely as Ukraine makes concessions for peace and Putin only talks while continuing to kill innocents,” the report said.
According to Graham, with the help of this bill, Trump will be able to “punish” countries that buy Russian oil, sponsoring the Kremlin’s military machine.
In particular, it will exert influence over China, India, and Brazil. In this way, the US will force them to abandon raw materials from Russia.
“I look forward to a strong bipartisan vote, hopefully as early as next week,” the senator added.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that Republicans in Congress are preparing a bill on very tough sanctions against countries that continue to do business with Russia . According to him, the document may also include provisions on Iran.
As reported, US President Donald Trump has stated his willingness to approve a legislative initiative to introduce sanctions against Russia, but on the condition that the final decision on their application will remain with him personally.
